eurodancemix: (Frustrated - Bang Your Head)
OK, so for the past three weeks I have been engaged in a battle of wills with Amazon over a Lady Gaga "Fame Monster" picture disc. Here's an example of what this double-sided disc looks like:

So far, I've had to exchange this item FOUR times! Each time I get it, the disc is placed in a box that it either much too big, too small, or is otherwise not properly restrained within the shipping box. What happens is that the disc slides within its plastic sleeve, and its sharp edges split or crack the plastic sleeve that contains it. I know it's not the end of the world, but if you collect stuff like this, it's important.

I'm presently waiting on my fifth disc which should be delivered today. Throughout all this, I've filled out Amazon's on-line packaging surveys as well as their complaint forms, and I've even spoken to their customer service reps twice. One agent even told me she requested a "bin check", something where (supposedly) a warehouse supervisor will go and specifically check the items in that specific bin to ensure they're all in good shape to begin with. Not so sure that was done.

In any case, because I get free shipping on this item, they're the ones paying for all these returns, and I've made them well aware of that. I've even promised them I'd keep returning it until they get it right.

If this latest item is still not in good shape, I'm not sure what I'll do...I can order it from Lady Gaga's website directly, or I could be a smartass and write Amazon's CEO and ask if I need to go to their Kentucky warehouse myself and pick out my own record, and package it properly.
