Stay in school and go for your Bachelor's degree. This whole thing of working full-time for a couple of years to save enough money for school never works: the more money you make, the more you spend. Your "2 years off" from back in 1984 have now stretched into 25 years...

not sure what I'd tell myself other than don't sweat it, things will turn out a-ok.

I can't really complain, honestly, I think I'm doing well. However, not settling for "just" an AA Degree would have upped my ante in life, I feel.

I've been very lucky and haven't really hit any walls not having a degree. Knowing where I was at mentally at that time in my life I know there was just no way I could ever have "pushed" my way through to go ahead and get the degree. Part of me thinks I wish I could tell myself to stop kicking myself for dropping out and feeling like a loser, but I suppose in reality my being hard on myself was a big part in making me be successful without the degree...

I've been fortunate as well...most employers have picked experience in lieu of a degree. But still, I feel I could probably have accomplished more had I stayed on track. But, hey, no sense in dealing with woulda/coulda/shoulda.

You can still get your BA. Your employer will probably pay for it.

I can say that I've loved going back to school. I'm really only halfway through to my BA by now, but it's been great. What's not been great is the being broke all the time, not having a place of my own, and all that crap. Going back to school after you quit or decided not to go is a major pain. And I'm not sure finishing it will help, honestly. As far as a job/career goes. I will finish my BA, but I've learned not to expect anything from having don it.
